Reliquary Chapel

Join Catherine LaPorte, a sophomore studying Spanish and theology, as she reflects on the most powerful reminders of her faith in the Basilica’s Reliquary Chapel.

“The relics are a reminder of the countless advocates we have in heaven who help lead us along the right path and who are praying that we will one day be able to share in that eternal joy. This space is inspirational to me because when I’m having struggles in my personal life, I can remember the lives of all the saints before me who had their own difficulties, but didn’t let that stop them from pursuing God.”

In this Advent season, as we ponder the miracle of the Nativity in that Bethlehem manger so long ago, how can we follow the example of those saints who have gone before us and answer Christ’s call to holiness?

  5. One of my all-time favorite places on campus, from which I share a treasured, quiet ritual phone call with Deacon Luis Lorza back in my parish church whenever I visit Campus.

  7. My very favorite place on campus. So sacred a gift to me. Knowing my heart can learn so much from these great men and women. Knowing too of their prayers in my times of need. Thank you for your beautiful reflection.
